the story of Insane Tee

July 09, 2006 - With a beer in one hand, a pool cue in the other, and a few hi-def widescreen LCD’s, John and Phil watched in awe as Italy triumphed over France in the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final. But the image they couldn’t get out of their mind was Zinedine Zidane. Just minutes before the end of the game, Zidane playing the last game of his career lost his cool andproceeded to headbutt Italy’s Mattarazi, knocking him to the ground. A red card later, Zidane would end his career with a headbutt as his defining moment. It was right then when Phil turned to John and said, “I bet you someone’s gonna make a t-shirt with that on it and make a ton of money.” And that’s where it all began.

July 10, 2006 - Phil and John just couldn’t get the idea out of their heads! If anyone was gonna make a t-shirt, they were. After an entire day of brain-storming, designing, printing, ironing, trashing, desigining again, and so forth, the Insane Zidane Headbutt T-Shirt was born. The guys were tired, and desperately needed a beer, so they hit the local bar. It wasnt but 5 seconds after the guys walked into the bar... literally... that someone stood up and said, “Where the F@%#d you get that t-shirt at?!?” The guys new they were on to something big.

July 15, 2006 - The guys had spent all their time and all their money printing and ironing t-shirts. They had an arsenol of 30 shirts and headed to the heart of Baltimore - Power Plant Live. Thank’s to Phil’s brother Ryan they were allowed to try and sell their new t-shirts at Baha Beach Club. The bartenders decided to each put one on to see the response we were telling them about. Sure enough, after only minutes we were selling the shirts right off their back. About 20 minutes later they were out of shirts but the people still wanted them! While they wanted to stay and celebrate badly, they had no choice but to leave. Actually, they got kicked out because a girl had bought the last Headbutt T-Shirt they had - the one John was wearing!

July - September - After the night at baha, John and Phil had new names. They were now the Insane Tee guys! After that the rest is history. The guys decided to go bigger and better and ordered batches of high quality screen printed tees. They were featured on the Ed Norris Show in Baltimore, with Bulldog in Ocean City, were on the front cover of the Towson Towerlight, and even had Mr. Greenjeans to play a concert wearing the infamous Insane Zidane Tee. Soon the shirt was selling in over a dozen soccer retailers in over 6 states. Immitations popped up all over the internet, but not one could match the original Insane Zidane Headbutt T-Shirt. A legend had truly been born.
